Instacart has partnered with Grubhub to offer grocery delivery services to customers on Grubhub and Seamless. Instacart has also partnered with Airbnb to allow guests to order groceries on Instacart through the Airbnb app and website during their Airbnb stay in select cities.

Customers can order grocery delivery directly through the Airbnb, Grubhub, and Seamless apps or websites by selecting Grocery. After placing your order, an Instacart shopper fulfills and delivers it.

For guests staying in Airbnbs, you can order grocery delivery in the following cities—

  • Phoenix, Arizona
  • Los Angeles, California
  • San Diego, California
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Nashville, Tennessee
  • Austin, Texas
  • Houston, Texas

Using the Airbnb app or website, guests can order groceries and select from two options—

  • Regulary delivery: You receive the order at your booked Airbnb after your arrival. You can place this order up to 3 weeks in advance of your stay.
    • You can also place an order while staying in your Airbnb, up to 1 hour prior to checking out.
  • Kitchen stocking: Airbnb Hosts receive and stock non-alcoholic orders before you arrive. You can place this order up to 3 days before your trip start date.
    • At this time, this feature is only available in Phoenix, Orlando, and Los Angeles.

Check order status

See your order status—

  1. Select the cart icon or order icon (bag) in the top right.
  2. Tap the in-progress order to see its status.

You'll also get text messages with updates about your order! You'll receive messages when—

  1. Shopping starts.
  2. Shopping is completed.
  3. Your order is on the way.
  4. Your order is delivered.

Each text message has a link so you can see more details about your order.

Help with an order

To get help during live/scheduled orders—

  1. Select the cart icon or order icon (bag) in the top right.
  2. On mobile, tap Help in the top right. 
  3. On desktop, click Need help with something? on the bottom left underneath Receipt.

To get help with past orders—

  1. Select the Account icon in the You section in the bottom right.
  2. Select Help Center.
  3. Contact Instacart Customer Experience for additional help.

Payment for Groceries Powered by Instacart orders

You can only use the following payment types for Instacart orders on Airbnb, Grubhub, and Seamless—

  • Debit
  • Credit
  • Apple Pay 

All other payment types are not accepted (including but not limited to Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo). 

Eligible payment methods entered on your Grubhub or Seamless account will be automatically available for use on Groceries Powered by Instacart. If you add a payment method on Instacart, it will not automatically be added to your Grubhub or Seamless account.

You may need to submit a new payment method during checkout, even if you have an active payment method on Grubhub or Seamless. 

Receipts and refunds

Your order total might temporarily differ from the receipt if you’ve tipped for services. You can increase your tip up to 14 days after delivery or reduce your tip up to 2 hours after delivery. Read our Tipping article to learn more.

To view your receipt or request a refund—

In-app—

  1. Tap the Account icon in the upper right corner > Orders. 
  2. Tap the order you want to review.
  3. Tap Receipt.

On the website—

  1. Click the 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
  2. Click Your orders.
  3. Click View order detail for the order you want to review.
  4. At the top of the order details page, click View Receipt.

Appeasements, credits, or gift cards

Appeasements, credits, or gift cards issued on Groceries Powered by Instacart will only work on that account.  

Similarly, if you have an Instacart Marketplace account, credits, or gift cards issued to your Marketplace account will only work on that account. 

Appeasements, credits, and gift cards do not transfer between Groceries Powered by Instacart and Instacart Marketplace, and they will only work on the account to which they’re issued.

Instacart Marketplace offers may only be available on the Instacart app or Instacart.com. Check eligibility requirements to see if an offer or benefit is available on Groceries Powered by Instacart.

Airbnb promotions

$0 delivery fees

Airbnb guests who spend a minimum of $10 (before taxes, tips, and fees) receive $0 delivery fees on Groceries Powered by Instacart orders. Must spend $35 or more for Costco orders.

  • Orders must have a $10 minimum subtotal for eligible items before taxes, tips, and fees
    • $35 minimum for Costco orders
  • Offer covers standard delivery fee only; priority delivery fee not included
