We suggest recipes based on ingredients you’re already shopping for. When you select a recipe, you can easily order the ingredients.
Shopping for recipes
When viewing items, like chicken or spaghetti, you can browse Related Recipes for more ideas. Or, browse recipes by going to the Collections > Recipes tab in your account. If you find a recipe you like, you can buy the ingredients or favorite it for later.
In the shoppable ingredient list, you can click/tap the trash icon next to any items you don’t want or need. You can also substitute any item in the recipe by selecting the replacement (arrows) icon next to the item.
If a recipe ingredient is out of stock, select a replacement preference during checkout or after placing your order (before Instacart assigns a shopper).
You can also shop recipes from New York Times Cooking. From the Instacart app or website homepage, select the New York Times recipe to view the preparation instructions and easily add items to your cart. Learn more about Instacart+ and New York Times Cooking partnership.
